RED Building

Worked collaboratively in producing execution drawings and preparing quantity take-offs

BVO Arq office

Location: Porto, Portugal
Typology: 39 - apartment residential project
Size: 2317 m²

Located on Rua de Faria Guimarães in Porto, this residential building is home to 39 modern apartments. Set in a quiet, well-established neighborhood, the project introduces a distinctive green facade through the use of continuous planted pots along the exterior. This feature brings vegetation directly into the urban environment, softening the building's presence and contributing to a more vibrant and livable city.

The building stands out not only for its greenery but also for its generous architectural elements, including large windows that maximize natural light, private terraces and balconies, and carefully designed garden spaces. These features create a strong connection between indoor and outdoor living, offering residents both comfort and a sense of openness in the heart of the city.

TECHNICAL DESIGN & EXECUTION

At the execution stage, the project focused on defining the wall build-ups, supported by thermal and acoustic analysis to enhance overall performance and comfort. Internal finishes, including walls, floors and surface treatments, were detailed, with all materials scheduled and identified by room to ensure clarity and ease of interpretation. A door and window schedule was prepared with all openings referenced on the drawings to support accurate quantity take-offs, while joinery and built-in furniture were fully defined through coordinated detailed drawings.

KITCHEN CABINETRY DETAILS

The kitchens were carefully designed to efficiently consolidate all essential appliances and elements, ensuring maximum functionality. In this project, an additional challenge was to integrate the water heater within the kitchen area without compromising the flow or space utilization of the rest of the apartment. The technical drawings of the kitchens also include the placement of sockets and electrical points, resulting in a cohesive, highly detailed, and meticulously coordinated design ready for execution.
